About

Over the last 12 years of living in a condo, I've encountered my fair share of challenges and learning curves in navigating condominium living. My journey began when I sold my house in October 2011 and moved into a spacious apartment in Edmonds, Washington, just north of Seattle. With stunning views of Puget Sound, including ferry crossings, ship traffic, mountains, and islands, it seemed like an ideal choice.

However, I quickly realized that purchasing a condo meant investing in more than just a unit—it meant becoming a part of a larger community within a shared building. Unfortunately, many residents were unaware of the governing rules and their legal responsibilities, leading to various issues.

Realizing that I wasn't alone in facing these challenges, I took on leadership roles within the community, first as the chair of the building committee and eventually as the president of the HOA. Over the years, we've worked tirelessly to address the building's maintenance needs and establish clear guidelines for residents to follow. While the journey wasn't easy, our efforts have resulted in a relatively harmonious living environment where residents work together as a team.

I've turned my legislative, financial, and physical risk experiences into valuable lessons learned. I hope to share them with others in making informed decisions when buying, living, and eventually selling their condos. The CONDOabc website aims to share insights, address common challenges, and highlight some of my and others' lessons learned, working to celebrate positive outcomes. The goal is to empower condo buyers, owners, and boards with choices, foster responsible community living, and navigate the complexities of HOA governance.

We invite you to explore our website, where you'll find resources such as a comprehensive checklist for condo buyers in the BUY / LIVE / SELL section, informative blog posts, and an engaging forum where community members can connect and support each other.

As we continue to grow and evolve, we're committed to serving the needs of condo owners in Edmonds and beyond. Join us on this journey, and together, let's create thriving and vibrant condominium communities.

I hope you enjoy the website and find it helpful.

More to come, all the best.
